Our Eco Efforts

At Ecorations™, we believe that you can’t just talk the environmental talk, you need to walk the walk.  As a small business, it is often difficult, and cost-prohibitive to implement eco-friendly solutions.  However, we are determined to demonstrate that a business can succeed with US made products and a focus on the environment.

We pledge that with each new business decision, we will consider how to bring conservation practices, and sustainable materials and products into our company.   Below are a few ways we have begun to demonstrate our commitment.

Charitable Contributions

Ecorations™ is pleased to be a 1% For the Planet member.   What does that mean?   Ecorations™ will give 1% of its annual gross revenue to one of the foundation’s approved non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting the environment. 

As a company we are determined to make a positive impact on our world.  Our contribution will go to the Alliance For Climate Protection. This organization does a great job informing the public about the causes and impacts of climate change, challenging the status-quo in Washington, as well as identifying ways that each of us can take a stand on clean energy.

We encourage you to visit both of these sites to determine what you can do, even if its in small ways, to reduce your carbon footprint and support other green businesses and initiatives.

Environmentally Friendly Business Practices

• Our website is hosted by 1and1.com, which purchases green credits to offset its carbon footprint
  
  
• Within our office, we utilize recycled paper and use both sides of the paper.   We participate in a paper recycling program.
  
  
• For our print material we try to use paper with recycled content.  Our product hang tags are made on FSC certified paper containing 10% post-consumer materials.
  
  
• We have chosen a US manufacturer less than 3 hours from our headquarters in Clemmons, NC to minimize transportation and energy environmental impacts.
  
  
• Ecorations™ offers a recycling program for our bags.   Bags can be returned for a credit, and the bags or the fabric is reused.
  
   
• Ecorations™ uses minimal packaging for its products.  Our carrier, Priority Mail, has received Cradle to Cradle certification for its packaging boxes and we encourage our users to re-use and/or recycle them.
